Unforgettable Great Times

Before I start, I’d like to send my condolences to Sharon’s parents and Susan. I wish you strength to get through these hard times. I’d also like to say that it makes me very happy to see so many people gathered here today to honor Sharon’s memory.

So many people, like me, loved and cared for her and I’m sure that Sharon would be very pleased.

Sharon was a one of a kind person and friend. The way she went about doing things and her attitude towards life were an inspiration to all that knew her.

Whenever we found out that our little group of family friends was going somewhere or doing something together, we’d always become really excited and look forward to seeing each other. This is because all of the time that we spent together was special. We’ve known each other for so long, we can really be ourselves around each other and do things without worrying about being embarrassed or anything. We did a lot together, cruising, camping, skiing, or just watching movies. Sharon and I always saw eye to eye. We both wanted to go to Stanford and we both wanted to be pediatricians.

She was one of the few people that I know that likes cats more than dogs. We made a pact that after we graduated from Stanford, we’d rent an apartment together and buy a cat. Another thing we did was stay up late and instead of doing homework, we’d talk about all the ways in which the world could be improved and how we’d go about doing it. She had great ideas about how to help save the environment or how to help bridge the gap between the poor and the rich. When it comes to procrastination, she was the queen and I was the king. Most days, the only thing that could separate us was her mom telling her to get off the computer. One amazing thing about her is that even though she procrastinated, she always turned in excellent work and I’m sure that her teachers would agree.

She lived a happy 15 years. She traveled a lot and I’m glad that she was able to see so much of the world before she left it. I’m really going to miss her and I will never forget all the great times we had together.
